Not much time to post, but I thought I'd let you all know that I've finally heard back from Grad Studies. My dissertation has been accepted to procede to the oral defense. The date is still being worked out, but it will be soon (everything needs to be in by April 4). While there may still be revisions required, it's almost over!

Go Mike Go!
Ooh, defense! You should take martial arts.
(What? I don't know what's wrong with me.)
What I meant to say is: that sounds intimidating. Maybe I'm glad I'm not doing a PhD right now. I think my brain may be broken.
But at least I don't go see movies like Music and Lyrics.
Will it all be over by April 4? And, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If everything goes according to plan, Kimbee, yes. All that would remain is the graduation ceremony.
Kiki: I'm sticking my tongue out at you. You just can't see me.
I can't believe it will all be over...that's so exciting
That's funny, Mike, because I planned to clap for you, even though you wouldn't have been able to hear it. (then I realized how I don't even really like clapping under normal circumstances)
But it's nice that we can find ways of getting around the limitations of Internet.ypsywaif
Stupid word verification!!
That junk is not supposed to be at the end of that sentence . . .
Yeah for Mike!
You and Rachel should come to Costa Rica in celebration, or at least have a party/
Mazel Tov! The oral defence is in fact not at all a problem, as long as you really wrote your own dissertation. It can be a wonderful, civilized discussion among peers about a topic they find interesting enough to spend hours pulling apart and putting back together. Think of it that way, and be prepared, and you'll have a decent time. Even better than at "Music and Lyrics" (my wife wanted to see that, and I couldn't really say no, since I also got in free, but even "The Holiday" was better).
Are you sure, Kiera? Sure you weren't trying to call Mike a 'gypsy waif'?
'Coz that's what it looks like.
Oral defense? Make sure to brush and floss every day I guess...
congrats, mike!
I'm gonna have to agree with Mandy on the whole party idea.
OOO! here's an idea, why not fly us all down to Costa Rica for the party??!!
good thinking zeb.
The girl's gotta point.
Congrats Mike
